Alton Bay: Alton Bay is located at the southern tip of the lake and features an old fashioned bandstand surrounded by water in the middle of the bay. Alton is a lovely community providing activities such as boating, swimming, snowmobiling, skiing, shopping and restaurants too.

Small public beach, park, shops and some excellent restaurants including Coe House, Canoe and Lemongrass. Its name comes from two sources: its location, centered between Meredith and Moultonborough Harbors, and also for the Senter family, who were owners of a large amount of property in the area. The town was a landing place for lake steamers and stagecoaches, making it a popular summer resort. Center Harbor was a favorite spot of John Greenleaf Whittier, and the home of Dudley Leavitt, author of the first Farmer's Almanac in 1797.



Meredith: Visit Mill Falls Marketplace with many shops, boutiques, a waterfall & a brick walkway. Public parks, many fine restaurants on the lake and in the village, lakeside boardwalk and beautiful flower gardens can be found. Hesky Park is the venue for a summer program of music, plays and children’s activities. Many craft fairs are held here throughout the year.

There is a lakeside boardwalk, public beach, town docks, arcades, waterslide park, mini golf, race track, an old fashioned drive-in theater and weekly fireworks throughout the summer. The home to the famous Motorcycle Week every June and a quaint train station offering train rides around the lake.

 

 


Wolfeboro: The oldest summer resort in the country. Multiple galleries, stores and restaurants. Downtown area is adjacent to the town docks. A popular retirement community for people from all over the US. It also houses the Wright Museum & NH Boat Museum. Brewster Academy is a well known boarding school on the edge of Lake Winnipesaukee. Great Waters Music festival, Village Players and Friends of the Music find their homes here as well.
